Anyone who says that the artist’s sphere leaves no room for questions, but deals exclusively with answers, has never done any writing or done anything with imagery.
Probably every artist I’ve been around, especially over the last near decade, is entirely focused on nagging questions. That’s what drives their work. It has little, if anything, to do with answers. Each new work they make is about looking at those questions from a new place in search of some unknown end — and inviting others along for the journey.
Design on the other hand, is entirely about answers, but like art, can and often should leave room for questions.
