Stochastic halftone dots through a loupe

Stochastic halftone dots from a test Risograph print, original image by Corey Holms.

For some time, I’ve been sporadically chipping away at a zine idea that came out of photos I took while biking along the Bay Trail just south of SFO. I’ve let this one gestate for a long time, and as a result, the form and content have changed dramatically. This weekend though, I began running additional print tests on the Riso, checking a few custom image adjustment curves. The above images are a peek at the outcome.

The above images were printed using Risograph Black FII type ink on Colorplan Real Gray 135gsm text weight stock and halftones processed in grain touch mode.
