Robert H. Goddard stamp
Robert H. Goddard stamp, 1964 USA

I found this stamp honoring Robert H. Goddard, the father of the modern liquid-fuel rocket today while cleaning up/reorganizing the garage in preparation to rip out the existing electrical and make space to reorganize my flat files which have reached a saturation point.

A quick search tells me that it was issued on October 5, 1964 in Roswell, NM. Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, 62,255,000 stamps with this design were produced. In other words, no one’s retiring by selling one of these.
